Quick facts

Capital: Kualar Lumpur

Transport: Malaysia has a lot of traffic jams in the city, but buses are the only way to get around as there isn’t a good train network. Of course, if you want to go to Borneo’s side, you’d have to fly!

Currency: Malaysian Ringgit, which is roughly 1 RM to 1 HKD and 0.25 USD

Sim Card: I used Yoodoo which has an app and is quite handy. It’s good for long stay. Otherwise, there are great options on Klook.

Handy apps: Grab for taxi in city, Klook for tickets and activities

Language: Malaysia is a multi-ethnic nation. The majority speak English and also Malay, Hokkien, Mandarin, and even Cantonese.
