Business Class Lounge in Hong Kong Airport
Fiji Airways does not have its own lounge in Hong Kong Airport, but it partners with the Plaza Premium Lounge, which is located near Gate 2. The lounge is open 24 hours and offers a variety of amenities, such as showers, massage chairs, Wi-Fi, newspapers, magazines, and TVs.
The lounge also has a buffet area, where you can find hot and cold dishes, salads, soups, desserts, and drinks. The food quality is decent, but nothing too fancy. The lounge can get quite crowded during peak hours, so it might be hard to find a seat.
Nadi International Airport Fiji Airways Lounge
On the way back, I had access to the Fiji Airways Lounge in Nadi International Airport, which is located on the first floor of the departure terminal. The lounge is open from 5 am to 11 pm and offers a more spacious and relaxing environment than the Hong Kong lounge.
Kid’s corner
The lounge has a modern and elegant design, with comfortable seating areas, a business center, a kids zone, and a quiet zone. The lounge also has a bar, where you can enjoy a complimentary drink, such as a cocktail, a beer, or a wine. The lounge also has a buffet area, where you can find a selection of Fijian and international dishes, such as curries, salads, sandwiches, pastries, and fruits.
The lounge also has showers, Wi-Fi, newspapers, magazines, and TVs. The staff are friendly and attentive, and the lounge is a great place to relax before your flight. The WiFi was much better than what I had at the hotel as well!
Fiji Airways A330 Business Class
The Fiji Airways A330 business class cabin has four rows of seats in a 2-2-2 configuration, which means that there are 24 seats in total. The seat pitch is 60 inches, and the seat width is 21 inches. The seat is upholstered in a beige-brown leather, with a Fijian pattern on the headrest.
The seat has a lot of legroom, but the window seat does not have direct access to the aisle, so you might have to ask your neighbour to move if you need to get up.
The seat also has a vanity kit, which contains a toothbrush, a toothpaste, a lip balm, a pair of socks, an eye mask, and earplugs. The seat also has a blanket and a pillow, which are soft and cozy.
The seat can recline to form an almost flat bed, with a mattress add-on and a duvet. The seat also has a power outlet, a USB port, a reading light, and a storage drawer under the TV.
The TV is on the older side, with a remote control. The TV has a decent selection of movies, TV shows, music, and games, but the screen quality is not very clear.
Dining Experience on Fiji Airway Business Class
The dining experience on Fiji Airways business class was one of the highlights of the flight. The food was delicious, fresh, and well-presented. The service was attentive, courteous, and professional.
We had two meals on the 10-hour flight: dinner and breakfast.
Before takeoff, we were offered a welcome drink, such as champagne, juice, or water. We were also given a warm towel and a menu, which had choices for dinner and breakfast. For dinner, we just had to tell the flight attendant what we wanted, and for breakfast, we had to fill in a form and hand it over to the flight attendant.
The dinner was a three-course meal, which consisted of a starter, a main course, and a dessert. I chose the Drunken Prawn & Cured Pineapple Salad, which was a refreshing and tasty salad with a tangy dressing.
For the main course, I had the Garlic and herb-crusted Beef Fillet, which was a tender and juicy steak with mashed potatoes, green beans, and a red wine sauce.
For dessert, I had the Fresh Fruit Bowl, which was a simple but sweet fruit salad.
The breakfast was also a three-course meal, which consisted of a starter, a main course, and a dessert. I had the Fresh Fruit Bowl, which was the same as the dinner dessert.
For the main course, I had the Chia Seed Yoghurt Parfait, which was a creamy and healthy yogurt with chia seeds, granola, and berries. For dessert, I had the Cheddar Cheese Omelette, which was a fluffy and cheesy omelet with bacon, mushrooms, and tomatoes.
The food was served on a tray, with proper cutlery, crockery, and glassware. The flight attendant also offered us bread, butter, jam, and drinks, such as coffee, tea, juice, or water. The food was served at a good pace, and the flight attendant checked on us regularly.
Service on Fiji Airways
The service on Fiji Airways was very warm and attentive. The flight attendants were kind, friendly, and helpful. They greeted us with a smile and a “Bula”, which means hello in Fijian. They also addressed us by our names and made sure that we were comfortable and satisfied.
The flight attendants were also very efficient and professional. They delivered the food and drinks promptly and cleared the trays quickly. They also offered us extra drinks, snacks, and amenities, such as headphones, magazines, and newspapers. They also responded to our requests and questions politely and promptly.
The flight attendants also showed us the Fijian hospitality and culture. They wore the Fijian attire, which consisted of a colorful shirt and a sulu, which is a wraparound skirt. They also performed a Fijian song and dance before landing, which was a nice touch and a fun way to end the flight.
Conclusion
Overall, I enjoyed my flight on Fiji Airways business class from Hong Kong to Nadi. The seat was comfortable and spacious, the food was delicious and varied, and the service was warm and attentive. The lounge in Nadi was also a great place to relax and enjoy the Fijian hospitality. I would definitely recommend Fiji Airways business class to anyone who wants to fly to Fiji in style and comfort.
