Jumeirah Bali is one of the top choices for a getaway in Bali not only because of its prime location in Ulutwatu right next to Dreamland Beach. All guest rooms are individual villas with their own private pool and the impeccable service, delicious food, and boutique experiences make it a great choice for couples, families, or girls getaway. Where is Jumeirah Bali?
Nestled along the rugged cliffs of Uluwatu, Bali, Jumeirah Bali beckons travelers seeking a harmonious blend of luxury and cultural immersion. As the sun dips below the horizon, casting a golden glow over Dreamland Beach, guests find themselves enveloped in an oasis of tranquility. Here, the modern meets the timeless, and every detail whispers of indulgence.
Design of Jumeriah Bali
The architecture of Jumeirah Bali draws inspiration from classical Javanese water palaces, evoking the grandeur of the Majapahit empire. The lobby and spa area immediately invoke a sense of peace and are very photogenic. If you have time, don’t forget to walk around the grounds a little!
With 123 villas, the smallest and most common room types are 1 bedroom with 2 and 4 bedrooms also available. The resort opened in 2022 and some villas are still under construction.
Note: if you want a villa with more privacy, you should request it when booking as most private pools face a public area.
Details in Jumeirah Bali
The devil is in the details and Jumeirah Bali has taken it to another level with:
- Live music at the lobby and restaurant
- Welcome snacks
- Digital butler (via Whatsapp)
- Buggy service to places – but can be a bit of a wait during peak meal time
Rooms in Jumeirah Bali
Every room in Jumeirah is its own villa and they are a seamless blend of modern comfort and Balinese aesthetic. The villa is easily three times the size of our flat in Hong Kong (if not four times).
There is a toilet and a pantry by the door then a study table adjacent to the comfortable sofa and the spacious living room. Outside is the private pool with two sunloungers and a day bed, and the tranquil sound of the fountain feeding water into the pool.
The bedroom and the huge bathrooms have partition doors so it can just be one huge room. I love the little settee by the window next to the bed and also the bathtub.
There is an indoor and outdoor shower as well as 2 sinks, and a make up table for the ladies.
What I found the most convenient is the smart buttons to control the curtains and the light switches around the villa. It is clearly labelled and makes it super easy to turn everything off when it’s time for bed!
Dining options in Jumeirah Bali
Akasa Restaurant
Perched on the edge of a cliff, Akasa is the signature restaurant at Jumeirah Bali and is perfect for sunset bites and dinners. They also have indoor air-conditioned space for those who would like to stay out of the heat, too. But my favourite aside from the tables facing the sunset are the cozy lounges with fire place.
Akasa’s menu dances with Asian-inspired grills, each dish meticulously crafted over aromatic wood. You can see the open kitchen as you walk in and they have a range of aromatic wood as well as peppercorns picked by expert chef to season the food.
We tried their dinner set menu and watched the sunset. We got a welcome drink each along with bread and a small starter, which was really nice.
For starters we tried the salmon tataki and Crab salad, both are delicious.
They also have Bali mythology-inspired cocktails as well.
Main course I had the truffle tenderloin wagyu beef MB9 and it was melt-in-the-mouth good. The boyfriend had the yakiniku caramlised lamb cutlets, which was double my portion and good as well.
For sides, we picked the fragrant Nasi Lemak and baby spinach salad.
I was most impressed by the chocolate sphere dessert which was quite a show. The pandan creme brulee was also good, too.
Segaran Restaurant
The Segaran restaurant is the main restaurant at Jumeriah Bali. It has an ocean view and is right by the main pool with beach access to Dreamland Beach. There are outdoor and indoor seating available to choose.
Breakfast at Jumeriah Bali
Jumeirah Bali has both buffet offerings and a la carte menu for breakfast. I was impressed both by the menu and also by their juice offerings! There are not only orange and apple juices but also mixed juices as well.
There’s also a salad corner, noodle station, cereal, yogurt, and fresh fruits.
The a la carte menu includes breakfast classics like avocado toast, yogurt, egg benedicts, omlette or any way. They also have asian style like porridge, dim sum, laksa, and bakery items.
Middle East set Bali set Japanese set
Must tries however are their three set menu: Japanese, Balinese, and Middle East. Middle East was the best looking one but all of them are fantastic.
Staff will also come over to get your tea order and take your a la carte menu order.
All day dining
Segaran also offers all day dining and we had lunch there as well. They have a lunch menu that we tried and it’s a short but sweet selection of Asian and western food like pasta and sandwiches.
We tried their yellowfin tuna and the caesar salad for starters, then shared the Nasi Goreng together as it was a generous portion.
If you are a bigger group they also have chicken sate, chicken curry, and grilled fish for sharing.
For dessert we shared the tape cheesecake but also eyed the coconut pana cotta.
Maja Sunset Lounge
Right next to the Segaran Restaurant is the Maja Sunset lounge, perfect for a drink and afternoon tea as the sunset. Especially if you ate so much for breakfast that you decided to skip lunch.
The afternoon tea set has 5 sets of savoury treats and 4 sets of desserts, including a plain scone and a pandan scone. There is also tea and it was a wonderful treat as we faced the sea and watch the sunset.
Facilities at Jumeriah Bali
Jumeirah Bali is perfect for relaxing and enjoying the sun, sea, and villa. But if you are an active person there are free activities as well as paid ones to do and onsite facilities to enjoy.
Swimming Pool
The main pool at Jumeirah Bali faces Dreamland beach and has a two-tier big pool and a smaller pool that overlooks the beach. Dreamland Beach is famous for its huge waves and the main pool is a great place to watch them.
The staff are super attentive and gives two beach towel to the guests and also set up the beach umbrella for you to lounge under. There is a pool bar as well.
If you prefer to be closer to the beach, it’s a 40 second walk (yes, we timed it!) down to the beach where there are sun loungers set up as well. It will be less private as the beach can be accessed by the public.
Thalia Spa at Jumeirah Bali
The Thalia Spa at Jumeirah Bali is a tranquil and relaxing space to be. They offer a range of treatments and massages and also Chakra reading.

Temple visit and blessing
We did the Water blessing activity with the onsite priest in Jumeirah Bali. It’s a traditional Melukat water purification ritual by resort priest Pak Mangku and helps remove negative karma and bring about spiritual renewal.
The meeting point is at the resort spa and we changed into Balinese attire before meeting the priest at the resort temple. Expect to get wet and you’ll have to drink.
Note: this can also be done at any time as part of the Bayu Blessing package. Which also includes massages.
