Spa in Ho Chi Minh City and Vietnam in general is one of the best value for money in Southeast Asia – although it is a tough battle between them and Thailand as I’m a sucker for Thai Massages. But there is one thing that Vietnam does better: hair spa! So if you are looking for the best spa in Ho Chi Minh city, I’m on the same journey and here are some that I would definitely recommend:

Things to know about spa in Ho Chi Minh City

There are many many many spa and massage places in Vietnam. But actually, Vietnamese culture is not known for massages but rather for hair spa – aka hair wash. Here are some FAQ for you:
Tipping for spa in Ho Chi Minh City
For the most part, tipping is not expected or obligated in spas in Ho Chi Minh City or the rest of Vietnam unless they say so upfront. Even then, I would usually go to another place because the normal practice is that the price is all-inclusive and tipping should not be mandatory.
If tipping is something you want to do because your masseuse did above and beyond, a good ballpark is 10-20%, or you can always just round it up.
If you are confused about the numbers, 50,000 dong = 15 HKD = 1.9 USD, which would also be a good starting point.
Cash or card for spas in Ho Chi Minh City
The majority of spas in Ho Chi Minh City prefer cash payment, and only a limited number would take card payment with an added 1-3% card charges.
A way to get around this problem and to reserve your preferred timeslot in advance is to book on Klook, which is what we did.Â
Hair spa in Ho Chi Minh City
It’s common to get your hair washed in Vietnam and you can find beauty salons and massage parlours offering it on top of hair salons as well.
The hair wash is generally with room temperature water at more local establishments, so be warned that you might get a cool hair wash!
Lisa Nail & Spa – Tiệm Nail Quáºn 1
A very affordable chain that has several locations across the city, it is frequented by local and now discovered by tourists with many locations across the city.
They are one of the cheapest places to get a hair wash in Ho Chi Minh City, but do require advance reservation. They are also very popular for their nail services!

Ha Spa

Ha Spa was something that I saw on Instagram because they serve chicken soup or tofu pudding after your massage or hair wash. They are located a little southwest of town but still in D1, and is beautifully decorated and run like a well-oiled machine.

It’s easiest and cheapest to book through Klook, and you can also reserve the timeslot on the app (but not on desktop).
Way Up Hair Salon
Way Up was directly across our hotel this time at Pullman Saigon Central, and my sister took advantage of the cheaper hair treatment prices compared to Hong Kong.

Norah Spa

Norah Spa was recommended by many people on social media and along my shopping route, so I went in without a reservation and luckily, they have availabilities for me. It’s a tranquil spa that is walking distance from the Ben Thanh Market, and their website lists the massages they have available, along with promo packages.
There are no lifts so we had to walk up to the third floor for my massage, but overall it was good quality. A 90 minutes package is around 850,000 dong which is 250 HKD/ 32.25USD.
I checked with them and they accept card payment, but with 3% charges.

Line Spa

I had wanted a hair spa when I woke up and Line Spa was the closest one to me that opens at 9am. On arrival, it is more of a beauty clinic with facials and other treatments at good prices. The hair spa I did was decent, but arguably there are better places.
But if you want a facial, it’s good to check here!
